The Mitten Tree
Bethlehem collected new scarves, hats, mittens and gloves for clients of the Empire Area Food Pantry. The tree was put away for the season last Sunday. (Does that mean winter is waning?) That little tree “bloomed” 1 earmuff, 1 scarf, 2 hats, 8 mittens and 13 pairs of gloves! They were donated to the Empire Area Food Pantry. Last Tuesday (the evening the pantry is open) almost 75% of all those tree “blossoms” were picked up by food pantry visitors! I’ll bet by next week, there will be none left! Thank you to Gail and the gang for arranging for the tree and thank you all for donating to make the tree “bloom and grow” to help keep our neighbors warm.
