
Vicar Daniel L. Dockery
Dan is a Vicar of the Lutheran Church Missori Synod and a Traverse City native with roots in Leelanau County dating back to the 1880s. Dan is a graduate of the Concordia Lutheran University System graduating from both the Ann Arbor and Chicago campuses.
As a Commissioned Minister, he first served as teacher and principal in the Midland area. After earning his MSW from MSU, Dan served the greater community as the director of a human service agency and was involved in medical and psychiatric social work practice and administration.
Dan also served as a clinical instructor in psychiatry for MSU’s College of Medicine’s Traverse City Residency Program during the 1980s. During that time, Dan continued to serve the church at large by filling many vacant pulpits including Bethlehem’s.
In 1994, Dan returned to full time church work and serves as teacher and principal of Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Traverse City.
Dan and his wife, Lois, reside in Traverse City and enjoy travel, history, and gardening.
